On Saturday, March 25, 2017, I passed away. My family is keeping this page up in my memory.

Funeral Arrangements

Many thanks to everyone who attended the funeral. The church was overflowing. A very nice tribute.

Interests

I used to be a magistrate in the county of Nottinghamshire. I was a magistrate from 1974 to 2014 and was chairman of the Nottingham bench. I frequently gave talks about the work of a magistrate to adult groups and schools. I am a member of the Magistrates Association and a member of the Nottingham Magistrates Social Committee.

I attended Long Eaton Grammar School (LEGS) from 1955 and have been actively involved in planning school reunions. since 1983 (7 so far!).

I was the President of Attenborough Lawn Tennis Club and also an honorary life member.

I was a Governor of Nottingham High School for almost 20 years. My husband, two sons, and one grandson all attended Nottingham High School.

I founded the Attenborough Ladies Hockey Club (no link).

I was a Queen's Guide and have been a Brownie Leader (Brown Owl) since 1961.

I was a member of the Attenborough Parochial Church Council (PCC). I was a sidesman and active member of the local church, Attenborough St. Mary the Virgin. I was chairman of the Church Social Committee.

I was a committee member of the Lucy and Vincent Brown Village Hall.

I was a trustee of two charitable trust funds - Carters, Peverill.

I was a founder member of the Cover Point Health Club.

I was awarded an MBE in July 2011.

Personal

I am married with three children and seven grand-children.

Jobs

My first job was selling broken biscuits at the broken biscuit counter at Woolworths in Nottingham.
